The Student Visa allows your child, with an age between 3 – 18 years old, to stay in the country for 1 year and enroll in a school in Thailand.
A Non-O Guardian visa is a type of visa that is specifically for a parent (foreigners) of a foreign child who currently holds or will be applying for an education visa to study at an international school in Phuket.
The limit for this visa is 1 Guardian visa per 1 education visa. Same as with the education visa for children the parent can arrive on the 60-day visa exemption, or 60-day tourist visa obtained with a Thai embassy. This visa allows a parent to stay in Thailand legally for a year and can also renew this visa every year until the child reached the age of 18 years old.

For the Non-immigrant O Guardian visas these are the following requirements:
- The limit for this visa is 1 Guardian visa per 1 education visa.
- It’s required to keep a minimum deposit of 500,000 Baht in the Thai bank account per Guardian visa.

- Total Cost: 40,000 Baht (covers conversion from Tourist Visa to a 15-month Guardian Visa: 3-month Non-O + 1-year extension).
- Processing Time:
- 3-month Non-O visa takes around 4 weeks.
- After 45 days, apply for the 1-year Guardian visa (processing takes another 2 weeks).
- Entire process can take up to 12 weeks.
- The child’s ED visa must be completed first before starting the Guardian Visa process.
- Two immigration visits required plus paperwork from the school.
- Full payment upfront with a signed agreement before starting.
- Optional: Multiple entry permit – 4,800 Baht | Re-entry permit – 1,600 Baht.
- Original passports of parent and child
- Child’s birth certificate (with certified English or Thai translation)
- Proof of 500,000 Baht deposit in a Thai bank (updated bank book)
- Bank guarantee letter (valid for 7 days)
- 2-month bank statement (valid for 7 days)
- Google Maps location of your residence
- Photos of parent and child at home (bedroom, living room, and house number visible)
- Rental agreement with a copy of the landlord’s ID card and house registration OR TM30 form
- School confirmation letter stating the child is enrolled and requires a guardian
- Photos of the school building and classroom
- School’s registration and accreditation certificate from the Ministry of Education
- School map and class timetable
- Certificate and ID card of the nominated School Director
