Countries that a Thai national can travel to

by simply applying for an e-visa

An E-Visa (electronic visa) is a visa that you can apply for online. For Thai passport holders traveling abroad, the process is quite straightforward. All you have to do is visit the embassy website of the particular country you want to travel to. Fill out the information and submit your electronic visa application and wait for the approval. Once you submit your application and make the necessary payment, you will receive an email verification message. As soon as you’ve verified your email, the E-Visa will be sent to your verified email. For safety purposes and to ensure smooth travel, do make sure to keep a printed copy of this email with your travel documents in case immigration asks for them.

As of today, there are 32 countries where Thai passport holders can travel to with an E-Visa. Some of which include India, Oman, Sri Lanka, and Zimbabwe, but you can click here to check out our blog on these 32 e-visa countries for Thais.

TIPS FOR THAIS TRAVELING TO E-VISA COUNTRIES

It’s important to note that the 32 countries where Thai passport holders can travel with an E-Visa are not for the purpose of studying, working or relocating. The sole purpose of the E-Visa is to allow you to enjoy the country as a tourist. If you are planning to study, work or relocate to another country, you will need to check with the Embassy, Consulate or a visa service provider in Thailand to get an accurate list of requirements regarding the type of visa you need as well as your purpose of stay.

Aside from the above visa-free and E-Visa countries that are available for Thai nationals, many other countries will require a proper visa application. As a holder of a Thai passport, you will need to obtain a visa in advance of your travel from the designated country’s embassy or consulate.

Each country will have a dedicated list of requirements that need to be met before applying for the visa. Again, the process is straightforward, but it can be time consuming so do make sure you allow enough time to receive your visa before traveling.
