Countries With THai Visa Exemption and Visa on Arrival to Thailand
As of July 15th, 2024, 93 countries can enjoy a 60-day Thai visa exemption, and another 31 countries receive a 15-day visa on arrival. If you’re planning a holiday to Thailand, you might be wondering if you need to get a visa. Many nationalities do need to apply for a tourist visa, but several others are exempt from visa requirements. This means you won’t have to apply for a visa beforehand, giving you plenty of time to explore enchanting temples, discover sandy white beaches, charming water markets, and modern cityscapes.
Just a quick reminder before diving into the lists of countries exempt from visa requirements in Thailand. We have categorized the countries into two parts:
- Visa-Exempt Countries: These countries can enter Thailand without a visa for tourism purposes.
- 15-Day Visa on Arrival: Countries that can obtain a 15-day visa on arrival upon entry.

Let’s take a look at the 93 countries that can get a 60-day THAI visa exemption on arrival in Thailand.
Nationals of the following 93 countries and territories are entitled to a visa exemption for tourism, business engagements, or urgent/ad-hoc work for up to 60 days. This period can be extended for an additional 30 days at the discretion of the immigration officer. Before reaching the maximum stay of 90 days, individuals are eligible to apply for a new type of visa in Thailand.
New for 2025: Starting in June 2025, visa-exempt travelers will need to register for an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) before entering Thailand. This can be done online via the Thai E-Visa Portal. The ETA is a quick and simple process aimed at enhancing security and tracking visitors—stay tuned for more details closer to the launch date!
